How do I choose the best diamond?

How do I choose the best diamond?

Top 5 ways to choose the best diamond

Diamonds are one of the most popular gemstones in the world. They have been used in jewelry for thousands of years and have remained a timeless symbol of everlasting love. Diamonds come in many different colors, shapes, and sizes so finding the right one can be a challenge. In this guide, I will take you through some of my top tips on choosing the best diamond.

How well a Diamond is cut makes all the difference

The cut of a diamond is one of the most important factors to consider when purchasing a diamond. The better the cut, the more beautiful and valuable it will be. How well a diamond is cut makes all the difference! Properly cutting diamonds is vital to their overall beauty and sparkle. The best-cut diamonds look more brilliant than poorly-cut stones. Each diamond cut or facet converges and forms a kind of hall of mirrors. The perfection of these intersecting facets determines the light refraction and how sparkly the diamond is or isn’t

A poorly-cut stone appears dull and lifeless because light enters through its many imperfections but does not reflect back out again in a way that makes it appear bright on your finger or around your neck. Poorly-cut diamonds are also less durable because they don't hold up under pressure as well as well-cut ones do; this might mean that if you're looking for something special enough for an engagement ring or anniversary gift then you'll want something with good craftsmanship like this one here—this means that if someone drops it accidentally then there's less chance of damage happening since these kinds of cuts are specifically made so they'll still look nice even after being dropped multiple times (which happens often).

Fire, life, and brilliance- the key to optimal diamond selection

Before you start shopping for diamonds, you should know that there are three key factors to consider when choosing a diamond: fire, life, and brilliance. These three elements determine how much sparkle your diamond will have and how much light it will put out.

Fire is the sparkle that appears in the diamond. It’s what makes a diamond look alive and vibrant. A good example of this would be comparing two diamonds side by side—one with lots of fire and one without any at all (or very little). You can instantly tell which one looks better because of its beautiful luminescence!

Life refers to how well light enters into or exits from the stone through every facet of its surface. When light enters into a stone easily from every direction at once, then we say it has great life or brightness; if not then it will appear duller than usual. The more life a diamond has, the less darkness inside it so more light can escape outwards into our eyes, giving us maximum sparkle effect!

Brilliance refers to how much light comes out of any given face-up direction(s) due to cut proportions within each individual cut style such as round brilliant cut (RC), princess cut (PC), etc., which affects overall brilliance ratings such as color grade categories ranging from D through Z colorless grades using GIA terminology regardless whether they're graded by laboratory professionals or not. This means that even though two different diamonds may have similar levels of color and clarity grade, one may appear lifeless and dude whereas the one next to it with a similar grading may be full of life and 100X more beautiful.

No two diamonds are alike

No two diamonds are exactly the same. Each diamond has its own unique characteristics, including its proportions and cut. While cut is the most important factor in determining how a diamond will appear, other factors like color and clarity also play an essential role in determining if a particular stone will be right for you. If you choose to purchase an engagement ring that includes a diamond with imperfections, be sure to consider whether or not these imperfections will affect your daily life and whether or not they can be removed easily at a later time (if they bother you).

Most sparkly diamond equals the best light refraction

The most obvious way to tell if a diamond is the right choice for you is by looking at its sparkle. But what exactly is "sparkle," and how can you determine whether or not your future ring will have it? First, let’s talk about light refraction. Light refraction refers to the way in which different colors of light bend when they hit an object like a diamond or another gemstone (this bending of light produces what we know as color). When white light passes through a diamond, each color bends at its own specific angle—which means that all of these colors are traveling at different speeds as they hit your eye. If you look closely at your sparkly engagement ring from this angle, you’ll see that some parts appear brighter than others based on which colors are being reflected back into your eyes at any given moment.
